WHAT IS SADDLE SANGI?

Saddle Sangi is a women-focused cycling community and learning program in Nepal. Whether you’re touching a bicycle for the first time, learning to ride with more confidence, or already cycling and curious about what comes next, Saddle Sangi gives you a place to learn, practice, connect, and explore. Through cycling skills, basic bike care, outdoor experiences, community activities, and leadership opportunities, you can build confidence at your own pace and choose how far you want to take your journey.

WHO’S BEHIND SADDLE SANGI?

Built from experience. Rooted in Nepal.

Saddle Sangi is a program implemented by Skills & Thrills Nepal, created by Nishma Shrestha – a Nepali mountain biker, coach, guide, and cycling educator.

Built from years of experience in cycling and community programs, Saddle Sangi creates a welcoming place for women to start, learn, connect, and discover where cycling can take them.

No. You can be completely new to cycling, getting back on a bike, or already riding. Saddle Sangi is designed to welcome different experience levels.

Not to join our introductory webinar or community. Bike access options for future in-person activities will be shared as each program is announced.

No. Cycling is our starting point, but Saddle Sangi also explores bike care, outdoor skills, confidence, community, leadership, and opportunities connected to cycling and the outdoors.

Saddle Sangi is being developed primarily for women in Nepal who are curious about cycling, outdoor activities, learning new skills, and connecting with other women.

You can stay connected with Saddle Sangi and hear about upcoming activities, learning opportunities, community events, and future program applications as they become available.

Saddle Sangi will begin in Nepal through Skills & Thrills Nepal and community partnerships. Specific locations will be announced with each in-person activity.

Yes. Saddle Sangi is designed to work with local communities and organizations interested in creating accessible cycling and outdoor opportunities for women.

That’s completely fine. Learning how a bicycle works, basic bike care, and simple maintenance is part of what Saddle Sangi aims to make more approachable.

No. You don’t need to be an athlete or racer to start. Activities will be introduced progressively, with different experience levels in mind.

No. You choose your own direction. Some women may simply want to ride and build confidence, while others may eventually want to volunteer, lead, teach, or explore professional opportunities.

Yes. The introductory Saddle Sangi webinar is free and designed as an easy first step to learn about the program, meet the community, and ask questions.

We’ll introduce Saddle Sangi, talk about what we’re building, learn about your interests and experiences, answer questions, and discuss what women would like to see from future activities.

Not necessarily. Some activities may be free or subsidized through partnerships and funding, while others may have a participation fee. Costs will always be clearly communicated before registration.
